Is it consistency of pressure that drives a person to deem the last straw has been reached? Something that pushes you over the threshold, regardless of not being the root cause? An exhibitionist threshold once crossed has no return.
A generation of prairie settlers, trapped in the winter with little access to the outside world, were the potential victims of so-called ‘prairie madness’ – the wind driving them to the brink of insanity, and sometimes, over the edge.
WIND I: A PRELUDE TO PRAIRIE MADNESS explores and pays tribute to the power of the wind and the madness it inspired. This video, audio and design installation, running on a 20-minute loop, is part of Theatre Encounter’s research for their upcoming live performance experiment, PRAIRIE MADNESS, coming to cSpace in March 2024.
Presented FEBRUARY 21-25, 2023 at the CSPACE STUDIO THEATRE (1721 29TH AVE SW CALGARY AB)
